About Us

Touching Hearts at Home, NW Tampa is locally owned and operated, combining the professional experience of owners, Eddie and Jessica Mendez, with the resources of a national home care company that has been providing non-medical companionship, caregiving, and homemaking services to seniors, adults with disabilities, and families battling illness since 1996. We see the opportunity to provide caregiving services to seniors as a privilege that must be met with great integrity, always putting empathy and the belief in the dignity of all people at the forefront of our work. The need for care and companionship has grown dramatically in recent years as needs continue to rise. Current family caregiver statistics show that more than 50 million people provide care for an ill, disabled or aging family member each year.
Eddie was born and raised in Tampa, graduated from Jesuit High School and Univ. of Tampa, where he holds a degree in Sports Management. He is also a veteran of the USMC, where he served from 2002-2006. After graduating college, Eddie worked for the Tampa Bay Bucs for 4 years. Before choosing to dedicate his career to enhancing the lives of older adults, Eddie’s focus was on caring for his 3 small children, helping with his elderly grandmother and his mother who is battling breast cancer. Eddie's goal is to provide vital caregiving and companionship that will empower seniors and those living with disabilities to age in place while upholding their dignity and independence in the comfort and safety of their own home.
